Irrational Journal: Going into 2017

It’s been a while since our last journal entry. I would like to take this opportunity to make some announcements for our plans in 2017.

2016 has been a fruitful year for us. We released 2 titles, Kitsune: Assassin For Hire and Socute the Corgi and also started an anthology, PITCH. Tracking the progress of our 2 titles, we learnt a lot in this past year and definitely gained a better and more comprehensive awareness of the market as a whole. We have a lot to improve and we will do so going forward. Plans have been made to carry on the afore mentioned series in 2017 but our release format may undergo some changes for the better. We will make this known in due time.

PITCH is going to be the most important project for us in 2017. The anthology  was conceptualized because I felt it was important to nurture and groom new talents in the comic industry. For the industry to grow and thrive, we will always need new blood to revitalize and energize the industry so that comics remain relevant and stay a viable source of entertainment as well as an effective and unique medium for storytelling. There are many available support and opportunities for young artists but very few for aspiring and budding writers. PITCH is one such platform that we’ve started to help young writers.

As we begin to materialize this initiative and push to release our very 1st comic anthology of this nature, I want to take this moment to thank all the contributors as well as all the writers who submitted to us. You are all talented and we respect the considerable amount of effort and time you have put into creating your submission packages. Please continue to write and make comics. Persevere and you will definitely find success.

The anthology is planned to be released in March 2017 and we are very excited to see how it will be received. For now, as we draw close to 2017, I would like to wish everyone happy holidays and a happy new year. Cheers!
